East-West Sylvan Middle School: Rigorous, Relevant Results We are community of learners that develops and supports competent, capable, caring students. East-West Sylvan has a fine tradition of providing a rigorous, relevant and high quality middle school education through the efforts of a committed faculty, an enthusiastic student body, outstanding parent suport and a strong instructional program. Sixth graders attend East Sylvan. East Sylvan provides them an opportunity to experience the middle school program in a smaller learning community. East Sylvan enables the 6th graders from our 5 feeder schools to get to know each other and develop an esprit de corps before coming to West Sylvan as 7th graders. The goal of the East-West Sylvan program is to create a learning community that promotes academic and social growth within a caring community. The purpose is to creat an environment that balances adolescents' longing for independence with the continued need for adult support and guidance.
